Behavior Counselor
As a Behavior Counselor, you will ensure the safety, welfare, and best possible quality of life of the adults living in Tender Loving Care’s adult foster care homes. You will have an opportunity to assist clients in attaining their individual goals by fostering Independent Living Skills (ILS); providing coaching and instruction to clients; and supporting client treatment plans, strategies, and medical instructions. As a Behavior Counselor, you will participate in a variety of client-centered activities. Accurate medication administration and complete, appropriate documentation are critical components of your position.
Behavior Aide
In addition to meeting Behavior Counselor requirements, you must successfully complete the following to become a Behavior Aide:
- A minimum of four hours of Tender Loving Care’s training in understanding the cognitive/behavioral effects of brain injury.
- A minimum of 20 hours of Tender Loving Care’s instruction in behavior modification techniques.
- The demonstration to Tender Loving Care of the skills required to provide behavioral modification intervention to an individual who receives behavior programming as determined by a Behavior Analyst.
- Successful completion of Tender Loving Care’s progressive training modules and certifications.
- Excellent job performance and commitment.
Behavior Specialist
In addition to meeting both the Behavior Counselor and Behavior Aide requirements, you must successfully complete the following to become a Behavior Specialist:
- Possess an associate degree in a social services discipline or have two years’ experience working at Tender Loving Care with clients with behavioral deficits.
- Successful completion of Tender Loving Care’s progressive training modules and certifications.
- Excellent job performance and commitment.
Minimum Qualifications for Employment
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Read, write, speak, and understand English
- Follow oral and written directions accurately and consistently
- Clean driving record and current driver’s license
- Ability to be insured and drive Tender Loving Care vehicles
- Cleared criminal background study
- Successful completion of Tender Loving Care’s orientation process
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the job
Schedules
Day Schedule [Full-Time]:
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Afternoon/Weekend Schedule [Full-Time and Part-Time available]:
Monday through Friday 4:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
Saturdays and Sundays 9:00 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Schedules vary and may be reviewed at interview.
NOC (Awake-Overnight) Schedule [Full-Time]:
Rotating schedule of four shifts on and four shifts off.
Monday through Thursday 10:00 p.m. – 8:30 a.m.
Fridays 10:00 p.m. – 9:30 a.m.
Saturdays 9:00 p.m. – 9:30 a.m.
Sundays 9:00 p.m. – 8:30 a.m.
Scheduled Call:
A variety of shifts with minimum requirements for hours per pay period.
